Top 10 denim fashion trends.

Aged jeans have been named as one of the top fashion trends.

Denim is a big trend for both this season and next. This is evidenced by the past shows of the “big four”. Jeans are and will be in fashion, as well as what other things from denim should look at right now.

The most on-trend denim today is the one with a vintage effect, in other words, specially aged. Designers suggest not to throw away faded jeans, but to give them a second life, which is very much in line with the trend for conscious consumption.

Maria Grazia Chiuri included jackets, bermuda shorts and midi skirts made of whitened and faded denim in her new collection for Christian Dior. Diesel creative director Glenn Martens responded with washed denim that was literally disintegrating into threads.

perforation

A non-trivial alternative to holes on jeans has been found – perforations. Fashion houses such as Valentino and Stella McCartney have advised to abandon holey jeans in favour of perforated jeans. Pierpaolo Piccioli has folded flowers from denim like origami, while Stella McCartney has cut figures out of jeans, partially filling the holes with small mirrors.

incrustation

In addition to mirrors, Stella McCartney abundantly decorated jeans with tassels with sparkling fringe. In turn, Donatella Versace encrusted denim clothes with pearls, as it was customary in the noughties.

For those who are bored with boiled denim, a gradient is highly recommended. Dion Lee created jeans with a gradual gradient from light blue at the waist to deep blue at the bottom of the trousers. Casey Cadwallader, creative director of Mugler, played with pastel shades of turquoise, lilac and beige.

Cargos are still going strong and continue to excite the imagination of designers. Jeans and skirts with patch pockets were presented at the world Fashion Weeks by many brands, from Mowalola in London to The Attico in Milan.

The low fit is another fashion trend from the noughties that is still with us – and it’s not going to say goodbye. During the Schiaparelli show, models walked down the catwalk in jeans that sat so low that their underwear (men’s underwear, by the way) peeked out from underneath. The Miu Miu models wore jeans that sat so low that their underwear (men’s underwear, by the way) peeked out from underneath.

Designers also make outerwear out of denim. Supermodel Irina Shayk showed a denim mackintosh during the Ferrari show. Similar trench coats were added to Dries Van Noten’s collection, and Prada’s range includes hyper voluminous denim bombers.

Micro-shorts were the absolute trend of the last Big Four shows. As a rule, designers sewed them from suit fabric and eco-leather, but some also used denim. Among them is now former Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton.

The Coperni team decided to resurrect the breeches, presenting a model with ruffles underneath. But whether they will return to fashion is a big question.

Denim skirts also remain relevant. The usual mini and midi skirts are being joined by maxi lengths.

Ralph Lauren, inspired by boho-chic, offered low-waisted models with floral motifs, while Nina Ricci creative director Harris Reed offered high-waisted models with the same floral print.

Jumpsuits are definitely among the most coveted items in the wardrobe: safari-style, like Saint Laurent, racing, like Ferrari, or denim, like Dion Lee.
